First, a very detailed description of the building is given to the computer for an affordable yet comprehensive analysis, then each different version of the building is simulated using hour-by-hour weather data for a "typical" year. With the results of these simulations, we can study energy flows, temperatures, and energy consumption at different times of the day during different seasons. The end result is a "diagnosis" of the building's relative strengths and weaknesses. These findings are condensed into a "Thermal Performance Summary" which typically contains the following information

• A table of the energy costs for heating, cooling, and ventilation.
• A table of the economic analysis results.
• A discussion of the results followed by recommendations.
• Additional suggestions for improving your design’s energy efficiency. That's all there is to it. Ultimately the decisions are left up to the owner - we simply provide the Information necessary to help them make an intelligent choice.
